Although I am skilled in several therapeutic approaches, I view healing through the lens of psychodynamic (Jungian) depth psychology. My style supports diving into the deep waters of the unconscious, if you are called to do so. This means some of our drives, behaviours and tendencies are influenced by unconscious material which can be made conscious in our work. We may discuss metaphors and symbols in your life, especially those in nighttime dreams. If you are a vivid dreamer, if you have repetitive dreams and even nightmares you can’t shake, you may want to explore these from a depth psychology perspective. Dreams are a part of nature, they are the voice of the instinctual animal nature in man (Dr. von Franz, 1988) and dream imagery is analyzed to uncover the hidden meaning to the psyche of the dreamer. They act as an inner guide if we establish a dialogue with them. This dream analysis approach to psychological healing can provide solutions to dilemmas, point out strengths in your life in order to honour them, and shine a light on capacities you have not yet discovered.
I also enjoy guiding clients through family of origin and attachment trauma. Patterns in your relationships with family, friends, colleagues or bosses can be transformed by processing and integrating past experiences, especially the ones you had with your earliest attachment figures. Additionally, I have an interest in working with adolescents and young adults.
I am collaborative in my work with you. The approach used in our sessions will be tailored to your needs, preferences and goals. I am trained in accelerated resolution therapy (ART) – an evidence-based treatment for psychological trauma and depression. This treatment integrates eye-movements with mindfulness, breath work, visualization, and somatic grounding techniques.
I have taken additional training in attachment therapy principles as a Connect Parent facilitator – an attachment based program helping parents connect to their teens. I am also well versed in emotionally focused therapy (EFT), cognitive behavioural therapy and couples therapy approaches. Whether you are seeking profound change or a tune up, I can support you with a variety of symptoms and concerns.
I have a gentle, empathic approach and I am supportive of each and every stage of your healing journey.
As a person who aspires to practice as the ‘Healed Healer’, I take part in my own personal therapy and continue a life-long journey of self-development and personal wellness. I am a nature and animal lover and have a keen interest in most outdoor activities and adventures.
Warmly,
